I arrived at the broken cement walls and tattered tarps that was being used as the church. There were over 350 people there worshipping God and waiting to hear the Word of the Lord. I was constantly meditating on what the Lord would have me to say, being open for Him to change it at any moment. It was very crowded, even at the front with Pastor Cornet and his associates sitting there as well as my translator John and myself. All of a sudden 3 men walked in from the side of the pulpit. They were shaking hands with everyone on the podium. It turned out that one of them was a local and very popular pastor in Haiti. The unusual thing was that he is running for the presidency of Haiti. Their elections are on Nov. 28th. He was a small stature of a man but there was something special about him. As he addressed the people before I preached, he spoke with passion, sincerity, and humility. As John translated his words to me, I realized that he was also quoting Scriptures -- the same Scriptures I was getting ready to preach! I was amazed and humbled as God confirmed to me His Word for His People. We had an amazing, God-filled service. As I reflect now on it, it dawns on me over and over that you never know who might drop by . . . .
